[The red headed Turk! The Mithra raised her head at the knock, hesistating for a moment before getting to her feet and opening the door. Her expession changed to a small smile.]

You got here fast.

I told you I'd be right over.

[He's smiling a little too, and he's got his EMR dangling from his waist. He's not going anywhere here without it until he's absolutely certain there's nothing about to happen. Call him paranoid.]

From:

[With good reason. Cat glanced at the weapon with slight curiousity before pulling herself away and taking a seat on her bed. Her sword and shield not too far from it, along with several elemental staves.]

I was intending to tell you along with the other people I requested but...

[She trailed off, looking down at her lap with clenched fists. This was difficult.]

From:

[Reno crosses the room and perches on the bed beside her.]

'S okay Cat, there's nothin' that'll change how I see you.

From:

[The mage nods a little before reaching up to the back of her neck, her glove scratching at the tattoo that was there.]

Thank you, but... You're not going to like what I'm going to tell and request of you. I'm sorry that I have to make you, Veld and Castiel have to deal with this.

From:

I don't like what a lotta people tell me, doesn't mean anythin' changes Cat. I've had to do a lotta things I don't like back home, so I'm pretty used to it.

From:

[She's about to say something, but is interrupted by her communicator before she quickly replies to Castiel with a sad smile on her face.]

Yes. That seems to be the case.

[Her grip tightens on the device as she bites down on her lip a little.]

I... I really don't want to request this.

From:

[He sighs, scooting back on the bed a bit and looking at her with raised eyebrows.]

Cat, I like you. A lot. Whatever you've got to ask me I'll do it. Even if I'm gonna hate doin' it, 'cause it's you asking alright?

From:

[Her yellow eyes look over to Reno's for a moment before she drops her head down.]

Even if that request is my death?

From:

[He paused, looking at his knees for a moment.]

That would depend on the reason why.

From:

It wouldn't be right now, there is a reason for it.

[She placed her communicator to her side before turning her back to the Turk, lowering her head a bit as she lifted up her hair that covered the mark of Zahak; a snake connected together with heads on either end.

Although, she's interrupted again and replies back to the angel of Thursday before continuing.]

...I was experimented on because I accepted a quest to become a Blue Mage, but... I never thought it could transform a person in to a monster.

From:

Hey. Don't talk like that, you're not a monster.

[gah, she sounds just like Vincent.]

I kinda like the whole ears an' tail thing. It's cute on you, I mean... I couldn't pull it off at all.

From:

[Knock knock! Guess who?]

From:

[A small laugh escapes her mouth and a temporary smile is on her face.]

I've always had my ears and tails, as long as I could remember.

[At the knock, the Mithra quickly moves to her feet to let Castiel in.]

Thanks for coming, Castiel.

[She looks up to the angel before returning her gaze to Reno. It was time to get down to business, she couldn't help but scratch at her tattoo on the back of her neck.]

...The mark that is on my neck, all Blue Mages have it but in different places; it allows them to absorb spells or abilities that monsters use and cast them as their own. Although there was a risk, if either the user looses control of their magic or... can't face their 'inner beast' to be accepted as an Immortal; they become a Soulflayer. My friend and I were forced to kill someone we did not know, who lost his humanity and was driven mad by his magic.

[Oh hi Castiel, Reno's still sitting on Cat's bed.]

So... You're like a SOLDIER, but instead of just bein' stronger and faster and damn hard to kill you absorb magic?

[He frowned, nodding a little.]

From:

[Castiel gives Reno a quick nod of acknowledgment before taking position against the wall next to the door.]

Soulflayer? Is that name meant to be taken literally or is it just a symbolic name?

From:

[She blinks at the questions, a little surprised but she quickly composes herself and moves to her dresser to find the image of the monster.]

For those who are able to complete the final task, yes.

[It took her a moment to think about Castiel's question.]

I believe it is to be literal. A body of man with a face of tentacles. Ah, here it is.

There's uh... one problem with this whole plan Cat. The system brings you back the way you were before you died.

Unfortunately, he is correct, Cat. Is there any other way it can be handled?

[She put the image away before closing the dresser. She didn't realize that if she was killed, she would remain a monster.]

Then... I really have no hope do I?

[Her voice cracked, her shoulders trembling as her fingers tightened on the handles. It takes her a moment to calm the tears forming in her eyes, keeping her back to both of them, trying to think of some other way. She would hate it but it was the only way.]

[He's standing and crossing to her, screw Castiel being there. He's going to hug her anyway.]

So you've got to face yourself right? Who knows you better than yourself? Nobody. Hell, you'll probably wipe the floor with yourself.

[Castiel's fine with that, he fails at being comforting.]

I would prefer that we not resort to such drastic measures if at all possible.

But he is right. There is always a possibility that you will not lose control.
