Well, I'm glad I'm no longer a Hume; I was starting to miss my tail and my ears. I also didn't like the effect gravity had over me during that.
[It also beat having a draft come up through a hole in your pants that was for a tail. Although, not too long after her first comment she stumbles and lands on the ground with a thump and a groan; that was probably Atomos' way of not mocking it for being the Avatar of time and space. That hurt alot and a cure spell was casted with its little chime.]
They're not like those rice cakes or mochi that are handed out around during Doll Festival or Feast of Swords.
[She moves herself closer to the communicator and grabs it.]
Anyway, that was probably the most weirdest of Valentione's day I've ever had. I don't understand all this additional stuff that's outside my door. Is this another part of the same event? Its so vibrant and looks like it could use some firewar- I mean fireworks. I know I have some in my yukata that I could probably share with the rest of the boat.
[Rummaging and success!]
I might need to figure out which ones they are before handing them out. It wouldn't be too great if I gave everyone the kind that turn you in to these lantern creatures with their tongues sticking out.

[Toph is making plans.]
I don't know what all these new gifts and the noise is about, but I gotta say, I like having real food delivered.
Wait, what do you mean 'the kind that turn you into lantern creatures'?
no subject
If you're interested, I can come down to wherever you are.
no subject
We're talking about the same thing, right? They smell like blasting jelly and when you light them on fire, they shoot up in the air and explode?
I'm on the sushi de- uh... Deck eight.
no subject
Uh, no. These fireworks are different from the ones you know. These don't hurt the users, aside from blinding someone if you fire them off in someone else's face.
Alright, I'll be there soon.
no subject
[Toph really doesn't want to be a lantern-beast. It'd make for a good practical joke though... Hmmm...]

no subject
So how do you start them then? Or should I wait for a demonstration?
Uh... I don't have any money, but I can still pay you back for them if you want. If you ever need any stone or metal or crystal dealt with, I can handle it.
no subject
Don't worry about it, I have plenty -- wait, did you say crystal?
no subject
Yeah, crystal. Why?
no subject
no subject
The kind I'm used to is usually underground. My friends said it glows green, if that makes any difference. [pfft. Colour. Who needs it?]
no subject
[She sounded disappointed.]
no subject
What, does your magic use crystals too?
no subject
no subject
Can't help you though. Sorry. I've only ever tried craft-bending with sand. [And space earth. But that doesn't really count.]

So uh, fireworks. [Subtle isn't she? Toph's outside the Kuma Ko, sitting on a stool with her feet on the rung and willfully ignoring how easy it would be for someone to sneak up on her right now.]
It's around New Year back home and we usually set off a couple to celebrate. [Nostalgia? What nostalgia? There is no nostalgia here?]
no subject
[There, the Mithra finally made her way in to the Kuma-Ko. She gave a wave to the bears and looked for the person she assumed was Toph.]
Are you the one who asked about the fireworks?
[Commentlog]
[Clearly, nobody has ever taught this kid about Stranger Danger.]
no subject
[She gave a small smile and reached in to her gear to pull out the fireworks.]
Its nice to meet you Toph.

[She trailed off to grab on to Toph's hand to show how to start the firework. One shot goes off and kabooms in to pretty fireworks.]
Its simple, like I said. The other two shots will go after a few seconds between each.
no subject
Sweet! So I need to find a some New Year cake and some other stuff first, but I can let you know when I'm gonna set these off if you want.
[They're Catpaw's fireworks. She should get to enjoy them. It's not like Toph's always deliberately discourteous.]
no subject
[She hands over a couple of more.]
I have plenty.
