[Well, look at this. The Mithra was able to figure out how to get the video function working~ You can see her ears flickering about and a curious expression.]

Just what is this? Huh?

[Her attention is drawn to the flashing red light and her expression turns to a panicked one.]

Oh... no... BOMB!

[The view is suddenly launched in to Cat's bathroom and the door is slammed behind it. The recording ends.]

[There's a blink, she looks down at the flashing red light.]

Oh. Its not a dud either?

[Sorry Marco, she's poking it several times.]

If you mean a dead bomb, no, its not a dud. Its just some sort of camera to distract us.

[She hasn't changed the feed back over to audio, but she sounds and looks excited as she reached for a camera she got from Isle Emeraudes.]

You mean this? Powered by a light crystal, yeah?

*Marco clicks on his own video, hoping it'll help. He's at one of the bars*

Kind of like that. I'm not sure what these things are actually powered by, though. In my world it was electricity.

[Oh! This was neat! It was almost like talking to a person infront of you. Cat couldn't help but wave back at Marco but tilted her head.]

Elec...tricity? What's that?

*Marco snickers a bit and waves*

Its, uh...kind of like lightening only easier to control.

Oh! So like the spell Thunder or using Ramuh as a power source?

[So happy~]

I don't think I've seen you around before. I'm Catpaw!

Eh... *Marco has no idea what 'Ramuh' does, but Thunder is a pretty basic spell name in a lot of things* ...yeah, pretty much. Its a bit more complicated than that, but I dont know the specifics.

Marco. Nice to meet you, uh, sort of.

Interesting. This place is more advanced than I thought.

[There's a bit of a laugh. Awww, how adorable.]

Same here, Marco. Its not in person, but close enough!

*He shrugs*

It doesn't always seem that way, but it--

*Video feed clicks off. After a few seconds Marco restarts in just voice*

eh...its got to have something technological or magical or whatever going for it.

[She finally swapped it off video, but still sounds as enthusastic.]

Yeah, I believe it's the magic route myself but then again you could be right.

It could just be a technology we don't understand yet. I'm more tempted to call it that...but we didn't really have magic in my world. God only knows how Redd works this place.

Oh? I could show you some if you'd like? Although, I'm not back to my normal level of expertise.

*Oooh, that's something Marco's interested in. Though he doesn't think he could ever learn it, it always at least looks cool.*

Yeah, meeting somewhere open sounds good. Uh...deck 13 or 15?

15 would work fine for meeting up. I'll be there in a moment.

[Heading straight for the stairs and going down three floors.]

*Marco'll be there in a bit less than three minutes, idling near the stairs. He's got a beer in his hand and generally looks/smells like he's been drinking. But he's not too far gone, and his voice is still unslurred*

[Ah, the Mithra is a bit more familiar with that scent now. There's a wave from the Red Mage, decked out in full armor as you see in the icons.]

Hello~ What kind of magic do you want to see first?

*Marco isn't really sure why people wear armour on the ship, though its easier to understand after the events after Jennifer got out.
And there is an amount of intimidation value to it...Marco's not really intimidated by (most of) the armour people wear, but he is kind of impressed with it.*

Mm...I dunno. What do you do? Ah, maybe that 'Ramuh' or thunder spell.

[Well back on Vana'Diel, it can be dangerous and the armour is always different depending on what job you take.]

Well, I can use white magic, black magic and a mix of the two since I'm a Red Mage. Although I don't want to hurt you with the more offensive magic I have.

[There's a blink as she scratches the back of her head.]

Ramuh is the Avatar of Lightning and Thunder, I can't summon him unless I switch jobs.

Aahh.

*Marco's come across similar classes in video games. It always seemed like a more useful magic user class...though he tended towards fighters himself*

Ah, alright. Well...whatever you want? Something flashy.

*He grins*

[There's a nod. Something flashy... Something flashy...]

Oh! I know!

[She poses her arms are lifted up and bent at the elbows, hands shaped like they're holding a sphere. On a lone rock, a Thunder III spell striked. It was impressive the amount of electricity hit that the target multiple times. Although doing the spell, winded her a little and she stumbles.]

Ah... I don't think I'm ready for using the higher level spells just yet.

Wow.

*Marco almost claps, but stops himself. He notices Cat's stumble though, and looks at her*

Are you alright?

I'm okay. Just a little winded, normally I don't have this issue.

[She casts Refresh on herself, which is a white and green swirl around her before disappearing.]

Um... Well, the higher spells consume more magic and are a bit more complex when they strike, but there's some equally neat looking spells.

[For example, she casts Enfire on herself. The moment she raises her hand in to the air, a flame disappears in to her hand. She snaps her fingers and a spark is emitted from it and she holds it out. Burning like a candle.]

Well, don't wear yourself down just to show off to me.

*He raises an eyebrow*

Is that just to shed light or does it burn stuff too?

[There's a nod before looking around for another free rock to punch. There's a flare of flames against it.]

It inflicts some additional damage to any weapons -- Owowowow!

[It wasn't from the flames but from hitting the rock. She shakes her hand a few times.]

That you hold get the effect. I have each of the elements to use like that except for light and darkness.

*Marco snickers a bit*

You okay?

How do elements of 'light' and 'darkness' work, anyway?

[There's a hand to her chin, she's thinking as her tail swishes around.]

Well... Dia is like a light elemental version of Poison, its very fast to cast. Then there's Blind, Bind and Gravity that hinders sight and movement.

*Marco eyes the swishing tail, partially just because its moving obviously*

Ah, I see.

There's a lot of spells, either having some form of white magic or black. Unless you're a Blue Mage and you use spells you learnt from monsters.

[Her ears folded a little, she didn't like talking about Blue Mages. Or maybe she was just a little on the exhausted side from casting magic. That was frusterating her mentally.]

*Marco notes this, but he isn't sure what to make of it.*

Its not a problem.

[There's a small smile and a nod. She removed her hat and pulled off her gloves, putting them inside the hat.]

I think I'm going to stay down here for a bit longer.

*He nods a bit*

Alright; I was gonna head back up somewhere else. Careful of the fish.

*He offers a wave and starts towards the stairs*

[There's a blink before moving over to the water.]

There's fish here again? How wonderful! Kevas will probably come down here again~

[Oh! She rose back up and turned to wave farewell.]
