If there's no fire crystals... then how does someone cook here? I don't understand how things are held together if they're not binded.

... Ah, not crystals. Fire. You cook with fire...
You can start it with flint, or a bow and stick if you know how. It's usually best to keep a lit source, though.
The "matches" here are much easier than either!

It usually takes longer to cook with fire -- I doubt the spell would increase the speed.

Well that explains it.
Yes, matches! A little stick with a red tip, and when you draw it quickly against a rough surface, it catches fire!

Well, I don't really cook... I mostly use fire crystals or water crystals to make my food or get something from Romy.
