Uh, does anyone on board know what to do with cookies? I kind of went overboard and I don't want to see them go to waste. I think they're still good. I mean, they should be.

Could someone help me out, please?

[A pause with a few blinks of surprise. Should she take his offer? The Mithra debated for a short moment.]

Mind? Not at'tall! [he laughs] Come on, have a seat. [he's showing her to a small, but tall table within the kitchen, with about three long-legged chairs around it]

[She nods and allows him to escort her to the table before getting herself on the chair.]

Okay.

[She's smiling a bit more.]

Might I ask what you're preparing?

Oh, jest a couple dishes from home. I've been learnin' some new ones, here, but sometimes home cookin' is the best. This stew's almost ready, n'fact.

Ohhhh!

[A few nods and another sniff of the air. It smelt wonderful!]

I'd offer a few recipes but I'm not that great of a cook and the method I do isn't exactly... like what you're doing.

[Although she finally noticed Silver's arm.]

Cookin' is cookin', as far as I'm concerned, however y'do it. I wouldn't mind seein' your method, if y'wouldn't mind showin' me. [at the question, however, he blinks in surprise. Pretty much no one asks him outright what happened until they've been hanging around with him a bit. However, after getting over his moment of surprise, he just chuckles a bit]

A noble sacrifice, let me assure you.

Ah... Do you know crystal synthesis?

[She tilted her head to wait for an answer but her ears flattened at the mention of 'sacrifice'.]

[oh Catpaw, don't look like that. He reaches out to ruffle her hair with his good hand] No need t'be sorry, lass. I don' miss it fer a minute.

[She was about to say something but was silenced by the hair ruffling, forcing her to close her eyes. No one had done that to her in a while.]

[She sighed and gave a small smile. Oh yes, she needs to explain what crystal synthesis is.]

As for that method I mentioned, you have a crystal of a certain element. For example, fire if you're cooking. You take the items you need for the recipe and place them inside, then you have to take a certain stance and focus; but it doesn't always work.

...definitely sounds like an interestin' way a'doin' things? What happens when y'focus? [curious Silver is curious]

The crystal shatters and sometimes you loose the items along with it.

[...he has no idea what to make of that] So...I'm wonderin' how y'get food outta that.

Well, the crystal transforms in to the element and when its done, the item pops out.

Ah, I see watcha mean now. [okay, he's got the basic concept. And is bringing over two bowls of soup--one for her, and one for him, and after setting down her bowl in front of her, he's hefting himself up into the chair across from her] I'd be interested t'see it actually work sometime.

[She started to dig in but paused. A small frown takes her face.]

I would love to show it off but I haven't found any crystals on board. Normally they're found off of elemental monsters or bought from the auction house.

Ah, not a worry about it, then. [he motions to the soup with his spoon] G'on, give it a try.

[She nods again and spoons up the stew, slipping in to her mouth. After chewing it a bit and swallowing, she looks extremely happy.]

Ah! This is really, really good!

[Silver beams with pride] I'm glad y'like it, lass! A cook always likes t'know his work's appreciated.

[The Mithra smiles a bit more and looks down at the stew.]

Yes, along with any other craftsmen or women. This reminds me of the food back home, even though I mostly lived off of pebble soup when I was new to adventuring.

Pebble soup? Tha' doesn't sound very appetizin', if y'don't mind me sayin' so.

It was alright, I didn't mind since all the items were findable out in Gustaberg; aside from distilled water which I could get for cheap due to my caretaker running an inn.

[She paused to devour another spoonful of food.]

[Silver's taking a couple bites of stew himself] Aye, I c'n see why it would be an easy thing t'make, then.

[A small nod while chowing down on another bite of food, pausing to wipe at her mouth.]

I was able to cook some new things, like grilled hare due to being San D'Oria a lot -- Ah, I'm sorry, the places I'm saying probably aren't familiar to you, are they?

No, I can't say they are. They're places in yer home, aye?
